Program

Carlington Community Health  Center (CCHC) and Ottawa Community Housing Corporation (OCHC) are partnering to propose a building model that allows for the development of a Health, Social service and Housing Hub.  CCHC is a service provider for primary health care and support service; OCHC is a housing provider with expertise in property management and community development.

The partners agree that their objective is to build seniors housing and to expand current CCHC space.  Their overall goal is to keep senior citizens in their home by providing the medical and support services necessary, therefore prolonging their need to enter a long term care facility.

The proposed building will have 70 residential units and a medical clinic on the bottom, providing easy access to primary health care and support services for the building tenants.  The building will also incorporate green building design, energy efficient technologies and sustainable practices, conforming with OCHC's Green Plan.
